Ensure the supply of protein dietary through the Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) programme based on federal and state laws as well as compliance to international instruments.
Protect the country’s fisheries resources to ensure sufficient and sustainable for current use and future generations
Implement the enforcement programme of the fisheries act 1985, fisheries regulations under it and other relevant acts as well as the Inland/River Fisheries Enactment/Rules in the states.
Maintain safety and protect the interests of fishermen
Through the communication system programme (radio communication), the management of complaints and conflicts is done including border issues with neighboring countries as well as assist in search and rescue during emergencies.
Collaborate with other maritime enforcement agencies
Carry out the responsibility of enforcing the Fisheries Act 1985 and other relevant laws such as the Malaysian Exclusive Economic Zone Act 1984 and the Environmental Quality Act 1974 in Malaysian fisheries waters.
