Message from The Director
BISMILLAHIRRAHMANIRRAHIM
Assalamualaikum WRT. WBT.
Presently, we face great challenges and threats in efforts to ensure food security in the country. It can be achieved through responsible fisheries management to ensure sustainable fishery resources. In fact, all parties must be responsible to act to ensure that the goals are achieved in line with the National Agro-Food Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030).
To address the threats posed by resource and environmental degradation, we are moving forward to meet the challenges with continuous efforts to increase progress in the captured fisheries, aquaculture and inland fisheries sub-sectors. It will continue to be made through improvements such as in operating systems, expertise, technology, legislation, security, research, awareness and development activities as well as service delivery systems, including by cultivating the practice of good moral values.
The Pahang fisheries sector contributes a landing value of about RM 1.2 billion a year and is expected to continue to grow in the future. The much greater value of the fisheries industry will definitely bring prosperity to the state of Pahang in general and the fishermen and breeders in particular.
The balance between sustainable resource exploitation with fisheries management and responsible community action is expected to eventually produce adequate and safe food, affordable prices and also increase income, especially for farmers and fishermen.
To God we pray, God willing, it will come true.
Thank you.
