ASSALAMUALAIKUM WARAHMATULLLAHI WABARAKATUH AND GREETINGS
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Pulau Pinang Fisheries Office Website.
I am thankful to Allah SWT because with His bounty, the Pulau Pinang Fisheries Office Website can be produced to meet the needs of visitors to get the latest information related to services, information and implemented programmes.
We are grateful to Allah SWT for His gift to us with a variety of natural resources that are many and it may not be available in other places. Therefore, these resources must be managed in a good, systematic and sustainable manner so that they can continue and be utilised until the next generation. Today, the fisheries sector has developed rapidly in providing an important source of protein to the people of this country. The rate of fish-based food consumption by the population is increasing in line with the awareness of healthy and quality food.
Sub-sectors such as captured fisheries and aquaculture are the main thrust managed by the Pulau Pinang Fisheries Office by setting the latest policies and regulations that appropriate according to the expansion for the development of the fisheries industry to be on par with international standards.
The mission of the Department of Fisheries is to manage and develop the country’s fisheries sector in a sustainable, dynamic and competitive manner based on scientific information and quality services. Therefore, the Department of Fisheries Malaysia continues to focus on improving the quality, efficiency, delivery and shared information system between the Department and the stakeholders.
